CHISA

The CHISA Congresses are concededly one of the most important events in chemical engineering all over the world. It is interesting that although the majority of prestigious scientific conferences is still changing the venue these days and trying to apply the touristic aspect that way, the interest in CHISA Congresses which have been almost 40 years held in the same place does definitely not decline. Except the tradition, well structured program and high-quality organisation, there is concededly the important „added value“ of prague genius loci.
The word CHISA originates from the Czech acronym for “Chemical Engineering, Chemical Equipment Design and Automation”. Congresses CHISA are organised by Czech society of chemical engineering with the close cooperation of the Institute of Chemical Processes AV ČR and with the support of the Engineering Academy ČR and VŠCHT Praha as well. There is more then 5000 scientists from all over the world participating in these Congresses.
Every even year a big international Congress CHISA is taking place in Prague, every odd year a national Conference is held in Srní, Šumava.

Convergence
Convergence started in January 2010 as a spin-off company from Twente University (NL). The first product was a compact type of ‘mobile laboratory’ to evaluate membrane properties on-site and in the lab. The first systems proved to be versatile fluid handling systems that saved huge amounts of time and allowed the user to work more efficiently. From the early systems on, the emphasis at Convergence has lied on making testing more convenient and faster for the user. Ease of use, digital sensing & control, high quality and customization of every machine have become important values. Why fast and reliable testing is important.... In a more and more competing global market where product life times decrease, the development time of new products is critical. To be able to develop new, or produce existing products, there is need for many types of custom test systems. This equipment needs to be built in-house or needs to be outsourced to ‘system builders’. When outsourcing this, the customer buys time and cost savings and can focus on his core business. Convergence handles the full process of producing these custom systems. This includes system development, system integration, installation, maintenance and service. Combined with our core principles of high quality, proactiveness and fairness, the customer can test quicker and more reliable.

We produce world-leading brands including Lipton, Knorr, Dove, Axe, Hellmann’s and Omo, alongside trusted local names such as Blue Band, Pureit and Suave.
Since Unilever was established in the 1890s, brands with a social mission have been at the core of our business, and now corporate responsibility underpins our strategy. In 2010 we launched the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan – a set of targets designed to help us deliver our objective of growing our business while minimising our impact on the environment. To embed sustainability into every stage of the life cycle of our products, we’re working with our suppliers to support responsible approaches to agriculture. We’re also learning from NGOs and other organisations, recognising that building a truly sustainable business is not something we can do without expert advice.
